Let's play Christmas Bingo!

Thank-you so much to everybody who entered the Papercraft Junkies Challenge that I hosted. We had 34 entries which is a record for us. I have commented on every one and will now begin the very difficult decision of choosing a winner and the top 3!

This fortnight's theme is Bingo Board, simply choose a line from the board below (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) and create a project using the items in your line. Of course if you are feeling adventurous you can go for a full house and include them all!

All the usual rules apply and the winner will receive their choice of the gorgeous digi stamps in the papercraft Junkies shop. Don't forget there are Freebies which can be found HERE and the snowman stamp I used is HERE. There is also a sale on so hurry over!

So here is the board...

Here is my creation,

I started by cutting three tags on my Cameo (one pink winter paper and two kraftboard ones). I then glued the pink paper tag to a thicker craft card. I put artists spackle on the second kraft card one and, sprinkled glitter on, I put it on the radiator to dry. I cut out the snowman and decoupaged the nose , hat and scarf, which I then glossed, having coloured them with my copics. I covered the snowman with frosted lace stickles and then added Copic opaque white. I used black glossy accents for the coal. By this time the spackle tag had dried enough for me to rip it in half and then I put it back on the radiator. I cut the tiny letters on to vinyl using my cameo, and I used pearl drops for the centres of the snowflakes. The pink tag was edged with pink distress ink and the dried "Snow" tag edged with blue. The snow was stuck on the tag and three flat backed pearls added. finally I cut some netting, coloured with my copics and threaded it through the top of the tag. I didn't get a full house as I missed out on the flowers and the buttons lol!

Away in a manger

As I have probably mentioned before I have a bit of a "Thing", about nativity cards! I entered the Jellypark Challenge, "Stars shining brightly", with another nativity themed card and saw their GORGEOUS digi image which I just had to buy and use!

I cut the star on my cameo and swirled artist's spackle on it to create texture. I then embossed with WOW glitter embossing powder. I backed it on to Hessian and coloured the digi image using my trusted Copics. I tried to show the difference between the poor and the rich visitors to the manger with the colours I used! I put raffia in to create a "straw" effect.
The card is textured but looks plain in the photo, it looks better if you click on it!

Stay warm, Denyse x

I would like to enter this one also in the Jellypark Challenge, "Stars Shining Brightly"

Embellish It! & Win a Prize!

I am very excited to say that I am hosting a blog for the first time over at Papercraft Junkies! I got to choose the theme and will also pick the winners( which may be a problem, as those of you who know me are aware, decisions are not my strong point! I shall enlist the help of my talented and artist daughter, Bethany to help me!)

The theme that  I have chosen is, "Embellish It!"

You can choose any subject that you like but your project must have at least one embellishment and you have to make the embellishment yourself! (You can use punches, die cuttters, paper etc whatever you like to make your embellishment but there must be one embellishment on the card which was not bought!)

All the usual rules apply and you have until 09.59 am December 15th to get your entries in. We would be delighted to see any type of project provided it complies with the rules :)

There are prizes and badges on offer but the prize is BIGGER if you use a Papercraft Junkie  Digital stamp!

I will also let you into a secret ... there are FREE digi stamps waiting for you in the PCJ online shop and there is also a SALE on, so I can't think better reasons to click HERE and fill up your shopping baskets!!

For my card I decided that I really wanted to work with the Layla digi stamp- I just love the attitude that girl has! I decided to colour her in with my copics using BV's and V's . I cut a black silhouette background of cogs and wheels using my Cameo.

To fulfill the "Embellish It", part of the challenge I poured melted embossing powders into a silicone mould to create the button, in exactly the colour that I wanted, which I put on top of some recycled ribbon and a strip of netting.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE join in the challenge and give me something lovely to comment on!

Anyhoo here is my offering...

White on white with a splash of Colour!

The new Challenge at Papercaft Junkies  is White on White with a Splash of Colour! The winner will be chosen (not picked at random) and will win 3 digi stamps of their choice. if the winning entry uses a PCJ image then the prize will be 4 digi images!
If you head over to Papercraft Junkies you will also find some great FREE stamps and if that isn't enough for you, there is a sale on now too! You could pick a freebie, enter and win 4 digi images!
For my Dt piece I decided to use the Elf image which I coloured with my Copics. I cut a box bag on my Silhouette with a cut out window. I made a "shaker thingy" out of acetate for the window and added dimension with snowflakes and glitter. I also coloured the image on to a piece of white tissue paper, which I transferred to a candle. I also cut out a swirl in dots and used a metallic pen through the dots to decorate the sides. I wrapped it in cellophane as I always think that looks better!

I would like to enter this for the SweetPea stampers Challenge "Gifts"

Here it is!

Silhouette Sensation!

Well , not exactly a sensation but I liked the alliteration!
This month at Cards Galore the theme is, "Silhouette" and there is a mystery prize for the winner!

This card was made using my cameo Silhouette (appropriate!) I bought the owl file, but designed the rest (frame leaves and branches) myself. I made a round easel card and airbrushed the backgrounds to try and give the effect of a sunset. I cut my design on black vinyl and made the embellishment button using a silicone mould and embossing powders. I glittered the "clouds". Finally I cut the branches and used them as a 3 D "stopper" for the easel.

Autumn to You Part 2!

Here is my second card for the Autumn to you challenge at D.C.C & Friends click HERE for details on how you can enter and win one of the lovely prizes available including two A5 stamp sets donated by Sue Wilson and sponsored by Particraft, and your choice of 4 digi stamps from Papercraft Junkies

I decided to have a Halloween theme for this one. Bethany bought the stamp for me as a treat (lovely girl XXX) and I coloured it in using my copics and highlighting with my polychromos and sansodor.

I designed the card shape inspired by my favourite Spellbinders Frame and made a print and cut file using my Silhouette Cameo. I chose the "poison" file for the print element. I coloured with distress inks and also sewed around the edge in red . I cut the Boo and the pumpkin and then edged with gold pen.

On to my "Things with Wings" card!

The Challenge over at Papercraft Junkies is "Things with Wings". Obviously have a slightly "Special", mind I immediately thought of hippos with wings :)
I used the fab digi of a hippo (buy yours HERE for only 75 p in the SALE!) and combined it with a set of bee wings (HERE!)

I coloured with my Copics ❤ distressed the background using Tim Holtz Distress Ink (the summer blue one) and used a mask to emboss and then ink and glitter the white mat.

I thought the sentiment "Life is full of Surprises" would be appropriate and using Hobbit font, created the text, fixed it to a wavy path and cut it in vinyl on my Cameo ❤

I am really impressed with the quality of cutting tiny images :)

I also made an acetate spring so my hippo could "Fly" off the card!

Please hop on over to Papercraft Junkies and join in the Challenge to win digi stamps of your choice. Also checkout the FREEBIES!

All Good things Come in 3's!

Well, what with a very busy half-term and my hand getting a little sorer as I use it more, I have 3 cards and challenges to blog today! I will blog each separately so that I can hopefully enter some challenges :)

To begin I have an Autumn Card for the fabulicious challenge over at D.C.C & friends, the theme is,
"Autumn to You", We have two fabulous sponsors this time, so there'll be two overall winners and a top 3 chosen!

There are two A5 stamp sets donated by Sue Wilson and sponsored by Creative Expressions up for grabs.

We are also sponsored by the gorgeous Tracey at Papercraft Junkies, and one lucky winner can choose four digi stamps of their choice. If you head over to PCJ you will find a SALE on and some freebies to play with too!

So here's my card, I coloured the image with copics & distressed the edges. I cut the leaves and painted them, also coating them with crackle paints. I used double sided sticky tape and autumn mix gold leafy stuff burnished on top for the edges!

Happy Halloween!

Well it's nearly Happy Halloween time!!!
Here is my DT piece for Paper Craft Junkies Challenge number 2!
There are four digi stamps and lovely badges up for grabs if you enter the Challenge which you can find HERE!!!

For my piece I used the fab monster digi stamps from Paper Craft Junkie. I coloured the background paper with distress inks, and glittered it. The other backing paper was torn and distressed and faux stitching put on. The Happy Halloween was a Tim Holtz stamp, stamped on to craft card.

I think I did well considering it is just one week since my hand op!
Happy Crafting, Denyse x

With Love - Hearts!

Well as you know I have been entering a number of challenges with no success whatsoever LOL! So I thought that I would try entering a challenge where I made the card SPECIFICALLY for the Challenge (as opposed to making a card and seeing if there are any challenges running that fit it!)
So I settled on the Willow Sketchie Challenge  Willow Sketchie had two parts to it a theme, With Love - Hearts! and also a Sketch, which I have never tried before. the sketch is :-

I would also like to enter it for My Mum's Craft Shop whose theme is , "Love is all around"

So here is my card. I took a lot of time with it, and it wasn't easy as my hands are playing up (op very soon!) so have photographed the details as well!

I followed both the sketch and the theme colouring my Saturated Canary Valentine Digi Image with my copics. I started with my new Anniversary limited edition set of sketch pens, which were great for shading the hair and the eyes.

I then coloured in the rest of the image and glittered the hanging hearts.

I used a Cheery Lynn Die to cut the hearts out and saved the wasted hearts to stick on the border of the heart mat

and also the card candi which I also added

It was no mean feat to add the tiny diamante with my hands playing up!
Finally I used two ribbon tags to finish it off!

Anything goes!

Over at Cards Galore this month's Blog Challenge is "Anything goes!", which means you don't have an excuse not to enter!
As a DT member I was given a Meljen  digi image of this cute little Mouse with a cherry. I resorted to , "Have a Cherry Happy birthday", as my sentiment, but drew the line at , "Have a Cherry Mice Birthday!", sounds a little cruel as well as being groan making!

Anyway, I really enjoyed producing this bright and simple card design. I coloured the image using my Copic and added depth with my polychromos and sansodor.
I cut the Cherry out using my silhouette, and the matting and layering was done with Spellbinders.
Please head over to cards Galore and enter the Challenge, there are prizes!!!

A new Challenge Blog!

I was very honoured to be asked to join the Paper Craft Junkies Design Team and to join in with their very first Challenge. Using the FREE pre-coloured digi stamps the theme was "The Best of British". I chose the Bluebeary Hill King Bear, and covered him in glaze (I also bejewelled his crown) I then made a rosette by printing a Union flag (did you know it is only called the Union jack when flown at sea?) and cutting it into strips which I glued and folded. To make the background I printed the crown in black using my laser printer, I then foiled them with my laminator and then used my 2" square nestie to cut them into squares. I then arranged them a a background!

If you would like to use the FREEBIE digi stamps and or enter the challenge please head across to Papercraft Junkies and join in the fun!

Character Crazy! (& Come on you Hammers!)

I have to say that I absolutely LOVED this months Challenge at D.C.C & Friends Challenges ! As a design team member I was really lucky to be given the choice of images from the papercraftjunkies website. Talk about being a child in a sweetshop, WOO HOO!
I was instantly drawn to the character Hammer (who happens to share his name with the nickname of my football team West Ham!) and decided that I would like to try something different.
As I am completely in love with my Silhouette Cameo at the moment, I decided to create a "Nut" shaped card and the cogs wheels and other nuts using the Cameo. I also created a print and cut decoupage file for Hammer, which I cut and coloured in using my copics, then glazed using glossy accents. I traced images of cogs and wheels and then cut them in brown kraft card, which I painted with pewter and bronze crackle accent paints.
I wanted the silver hexagon inside the card to be embossed, so I draw and cut small nuts (using the cameo) and then sprinkled them on my Calibur embossing mat, I put the silver card on top and then ran it through the  Calibur.
I used Black Soot Distress Ink to ink the edges of the nut card & I must add something here, I saw a demo of the new Splodge away mat at a show recently. I was very sceptical that it could be any different to the glass cutting mat or brown craft mat that I already had. but as I am rubbish with a capital R at inking smoothly I decided to give one a try. I have to say that I am BLOWN AWAY by it! I have no idea what it is or why it works, but the smoothness of the inking is astonishing! If you look at the inking on my card you wont see any lines or blotches FANTASTIC!

If you head over to the D.C.C challenge Blog you can enter the new challenge which is CHARACTER CRAZY You can interpret this theme anyway you think, we love to see all kinds of papercrafts from cards to scrapbook pages, tags or even something you've altered.
