Splish Splash Splosh... Here comes Summer!

Over at the lovely Crafts Galore Facebook group we have been having lots of fun activities (we still are why don't you join in the fun?) Janice from Scrapper's Delights set up a challenge which offers a lovely free Beach babe digi stamp. As soon as I saw the stamp I knew that I wanted to have her sitting in a lifesaver ring (or whatever you call them!) I then decided to go experimental! I cut two acetate discs slightly larger than the whole in the ring. I created a thick seal around the edge with silicone glue and then filled it with liquid, and glued the other disc on top. As I didn't put water in it, it is totally mesmerising, like one of those pens that you pick up on holiday with floaty bits in the end! everybody that I have showed it to has loved it and found it hard to stop rotating it!
Here's hoping we get some sun here this "Summer"!
Happy crafting!

Raindrops in July!

Sadly a title, which reflects out current, unpredictable weather!
So what better thing to do on a dull day than craft a little and enter our challenge!
The new challenge over at Scrapper's Delight is "Die Cuts", your entry can be any project which includes die cuts.
I chose a gorgeous Digi Rainy Days 2 stamp which can be found HERE at 50% off that's just 50p for this lovely digi! The sentiment is from Rainy Days 3 which is also just 50p for the duration of the Challenge.
I cut my background, mats, cloud and digi image on my Cameo. Colouring was with my Copics and the cloud was glossed after colouring.
Please join in the Challenge HERE !
Happy Crafting,

Bertie Blaster !

Wow! I am really excited and pleased to say that I have been asked to join the Scrappers Delights Challenge Team. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fantastic Digi images that Janice creates and have to say they are absolutely fantastic value for money, you can check the store out HERE.

The Challenge is "S is for ....", it can be anything you like as long as it begins with an "S" !

I also have a fabulous 20% off Coupon Code for you to use in the online store so why not grab a Digi and enter?

As this is our first challenge the winner of the challenge gets a fantastic $10 voucher to spend at Scrappers Delights.

For my first DT piece I was given this gorgeous Space Hero Boy 2 to work with, I decided that I wanted to create an Intergalactic Space Visa, so I used foiled the backing paper image on to acetate and wrapped it around a black card. I cut out the lettering and Comet Franking mark on my Cameo in Silver Vinyl and I coloured the figure with my Copics. Inside the card I again foiled the backgrounds and I cut a "Document" wallet on my Cameo (for money or a gift voucher). I used the third Spaceboy image to create the "Passport photo" inside and again cut the lettering in silver vinyl.
Bethany saw the character and named him, "Bertie Blaster!" which I love. I thought it would be great to have the age of the child as the Visa number... just need to find a 6 year old Space Cadet !
Happy Crafting  :) x

And now for something completely different!

Among the stamps that I bought at Biggin Hill, I also bought this Off-The-Wall stamp by Lindsay Mason. I just love the quirkiness of it. I used Gesso on a piece of card and then stamped with the Lindsay Mason stamp and the gorgeous vine leaves from Dyan Reaveley's Dylusion collection. I then used Faber Castell Artists' Big Pitt Pens as well as Gelatos to colour the images and background. The frame was cut and then pasted with old book pages and the frame and sentiment were distressed. The leaves on the frame were covered with Pinflair lacquer.
I would like to enter this into Ali -Craft's first Challenge (especially as I bought all Lindsay Mason stamps from them!) The theme is OPEN

Clicking on the photos shows the colour off much better! x

Hope you like this,
Happy June crafting,

A Sketch in Time...

I can't believe another month has flown past! The Cards Galore Challenge for June is a Sketch Challenge and this is the sketch to work from

A star on a sketch indicates an embellishment or a sentiment. I decided to try something completely different for me (again!) so I used "Doo Lally Pip", a fabulous stamp set from a collection by Lindsay Mason. The backing papers were picked from a steam punk selection from Tiddlyinks and from patterns available in the Silhouette online store. I inked the edges using weathered wood distress ink. I coloured the image using the C range of Copic colours and I "popped" the image using W1. The black frame was cut on the Cameo, covered in Perfect Medium, and embossed twice with clear embossing powder. The watch was stamped inked and also embossed twice. The wire was curled around a paintbrush.
I love the stamp and think in contrast my next project with it will be using lots of colour!
This month's challenge is sponsored by Designs by Ryn and the prize is two of their gorgeous stamps.

I would like to enter this for the Nutcrafters Challenge "Monochrome"   Ali Craft's Open Challenge and  Happy Campers Craft Collective Challenge "Use Metal"  (I made the spring out of wire)
thank-you and Happy Crafting!!
