My first attempt at paper piecing!

Why is it that the school holidays fly by so quickly and the terms are Sooooo slow?
Another challenge has just launched at Scrappers Delights and this fortnight the theme is Paper Piecing. I haven't really done this before so it was fun to try something new. I used the fab papers in the Scrappers store (check them out HERE) and also the very manga CU Rabbit Parka 1 which my lovely Bethany helped me to choose :)
I also designed my own paper pieced wall (each "brick is individually stuck on!) which I cut with my Cameo. The letters and ink splat were cut out of vinyl, using my Cameo, I was trying to get a graffitti look!
Finally I added some lace netting to help the skirt stick out.
There are $10 of digis for you to win in the challenge, so why not pop over and join in the fun?
You still have time to use the coupon below!
Happy Crafting!

Love Birds

I thought I would take a textured card and cover it with gelatos, then I gessoed it lightly. I stamped with stazon, on to the card for the background, on acetate for the cage and on old book pages for the birds and heart. It looks much better for real !

Colour me happy!

Over at Scrappers' Delights there is a great new challenge, my favourite so far! It is a sketch challenge and the as always is a $10 voucher to spend in store. With all the discounts as well that is a HUGE prize for lots of lovely digis!

Don't forget you can also use the 20% off voucher which is in my last post!
Well I have to say I really LOVE my card this time, which is very rare for me. I decided to go "Andy Warhol", and create a simple card. I cut everything using my Cameo (I cut a grid to keep the spacing correct) and then simply coloured the images with my copics et voila!! Hope you like it,
Happy Crafting,
Denyse x

On the outside looking in?

This month the Cards Galore Challenge is sponsored by the fabulous, Scrapper's Delights so I have created one piece of work for both DTs!

The winner of the Challenge will get a whole $10 to spend in the Scrapper's Delights Store HERE.
We can also give you a special 20% off discount voucher for the Scrapper's Store, where there are already a number of bargains to be had!

So the Challenge is a BINGO CHALLENGE, all you have to do is pick three squares either horizontally, vertically or diagonally from out Bingo card and include your chosen elements in your project.

I chose Gems/Die Cuts,Inks. I decided to use Narissa Mermaid (isn't she beautiful?) and the Under The Sea Set. Once again I created a liquid pack with acetate and fairy liquid. I designed the background on my Cameo, cut the holes and backed with silver. I sprayed the backing with dylusion inks, and highlighted with a white pen. I smeared liquid pearls on a non stick sheet and cut it to make seaweed. The box frame was made on my Cameo, covered in gesso, acrylic paints, and then inked. All printing was cut on my Cameo and coloured with my Copics. The pearls were created with liquid pearls. There are rocks inside the frame made with card and decorative gravel. You can't really see from the photo but there is a real "3D" look to the piece.
The question is, is the mermaid on the outside looking in and wanting to be back in? Or is the Mermaid inside wanting out? Or is the inside Mermaid a ghost or the alter ego of the outside Mermaid? Questions, questions, questions!
Happy Crafting,
Denyse x
