Edwardian Elegance!

Well I have been having fun with paints and mediums this week! I was inspired by this gorgeous digi image of an Edwardian lady (Vintage Steampunk Lady 1 SKU 0001), which you can buy at the Scribble & Scrap shop  .

I decided I wanted to make it look as if the image was printed on to wood, so I used the techniques I learnt at my last workshop at Sugar and Spice.

I painted a piece of chipboard with Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Chalk paint in Baltic Blue. Once it had dried I smoothed a very thin layer of their crackle glaze across using a spatula. Then I painted over the piece with Nougat fresco paint (at this stage you have to move quickly and in one direction as the crackling starts immediately and you can just pull the paint back off!)

I wanted to transfer the image so at that point I sealed the chipboard with some acrylic varnish spray. I printed the image on my mono laser printer tore around the shape of the image (tearing allows you to transfer more easily as it gives a raw edge to rub away) and painted it with matte medium. I placed it on to the painted chipboard, smoothed it and left it to dry (always reverse an image before printing if it has letters or numbers on it as it will be placed face down on the card).

Once dried I sprayed it with water and gently rubbed away at the paper. Eventually the paper came off leaving the transfer image behind, I like the fact that the image is rubbed through in some places as it gives a vintage feel and definitely looks like wood! I finished it off by rubbing some Treaure gold into the cracks.
To mount the image I embossed a piece of pearlised card rubbed with treasure gold, I then cut four border strips from Kraft card on my Cameo and added them and some blue pearls. A tulle ruffle finished it off!

At Scribble and Scrap the theme is always, "Anything Goes", and the prize is a massive £15 (OOPS! I put £10 but it is £15!!!)  to spend in the digi shop so why don't you join us? You have a fortnight to enter!

As an added incentive there i a 7 Day sale on now so click the image below to go to the shop :)

Draculicious Part 2 : The Prince and his Princess

If you scroll down you will see my last post, "Draculicious!", which is designed from a fab digi download from Scrapper's Delights. Today's post is using the second pair of digi characters which come as a bonus with the Dracula pairing. This couple are pre-watershed as the Prince is now charming (groan) and helping his Princess with her necklace. If you are a, "Glass half full," sort of person then the necklace is a love token just given to his sweetheart. If however you are a, "Glass half empty," sort of person, then the Prince is a distant relative of Raffles and is actually stealing the necklace, the choice is yours!

I coloured, as always, with my Copics and cut everything on my Cameo. I wanted to give the Prince a ruddy complexion in contrast to the pale complexion of Dracula. My bow was sewn by hand from a strip of tulle and the centre is a handmade rose ( cut on my Cameo) which I added glitter to.

I really think this is a fabulous digi set and at the moment it is at the fantastic price of £1.06 for both sets, Dracula and the Prince! So why don't you pop along, buy some digis HERE and enter the challenge? (you don't have to use Scrapper's Delights images to enter but why not give them a try?
Happy Crafting!

Draculicious!!!

CHALLENGE LINKS ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE POST :)

I simply love the new images over at Scrappers Delights. If you are looking for some fab Halloween images then hop on over to the shop and see the new releases.

What is particularly fabulous about this image is that it it is not just for Halloween, as an extra bargain bonus you also get the image as a Price and Princess. In the second image the Prince doesn't need to see an orthodontist, is vegetarian and just helping the Princess with her necklace!
Please pop back in two weeks time when you will see the contrast between the Dracula/ Heroine image and the Prince/Princess one!

Both Images are just £1.06 at the moment for four characters!!!!

I REALLY enjoyed this one. I cut the card on my Cameo back and front and sandwiched a piece of black card in the middle for strength. The image was done with Print and Cut using my Cameo and coloured with copics. I do actually like the skintone that I got for the blood sucking vampire!I finished with a rose winding its way up the front of the doors.
Happy Crafting,
Denyse x

Well I have two Design Team pieces for you today both of which are using Scrappers Delights Digi Images! The first is using this gorgeous colour inspiration pic, and an optional theme of "Birthday", to celebrate Janice's Birthday (Fab designer at Scrappers Delights). If you pop across to the Challenge blog you can enter for a chance to win $10 of digi downloads. At the moment that would give you lots and lots of images as there is a store wide sale on !

Here is my card using Breena Fairy which is just 50p at the moment!!!  I coloured her with my Copics and used Craftwork Cards paper to mount. I cut the Happy Birthday on my Cameo, coloured it with copics and then clear embossed it.

My second card is for the C.R.A.F.T paper piecing challenge at Trimmies. I cut everything on my Cameo, don't you just love the vinyl lettering? I think it is great fitting it to a path. I went for a Hippy Chick look which is quite different for me :)

Happy Crafting,

The Colour of Summer :)

Hello, well the sun is still shining although the temperature has dropped a bit. My post today is for the fabulous Cards Galore Challenge Blog.
This month there is a colour challenge and the winner will get a badge for their blog and a GDT spot and feature for the October Challenge!
A perfect way to have your wonderful creations viewed by more people!
I coloured my image using my Copics and I made a mylar stencil on my Cameo. I then used gelatos with a waterbrush to paint through the stencil to create the background pattern.
Happy Crafting everybody,
Denyse x
