Merry Christmas!

This month the (always) Anything Goes Challenge over at Creative Artiste Mixed Media is sponsored by Scrapmatts
I decided to create a seasonal piece and used my Cameo to cut a set of concentric rings which were, "Wreath sized". I painted these with Powertex to ensure that they would be durable in the rain and then added a lot of very ugly, coloured buttons(!).
The buttons were then covered with Powertex as well and it was left to dry. I cut a Merry Christmas greeting out of card which I glittered up. I also cut two acetate circles and sandwiched the greeting in between with lots of little stars as well. The buttons were then buffed with rub and buff and Treasure Gold.
Glitter was added and also Decoart interference paint in gold. The greeting was sandwiched between the button circle and another Powertex painted, identical, ring and I added ribbon to hang it up and a pearl string to decorate.

I have to say it really sparkles in the sunshine and even in the car headlights!

I hope you all have a very Happy Christmas and (at least!) a little bit of peaceful time to create something lovely! :)
Love,
Denyse x

Seasons Greetings!!!!

Merry Christmas to you all. I hope Christmas 2016 finds you happy, healthy and ready to create!
At Crafts Galore Encore we have a new challenge for you. Sponsored by Sherri Baldi the winner will receive the 3 digi stamps used by the DT

I decided to use the middle image and printed it on to tissue paper and coloured it with copics, Neocolor crayons and polychromos. I then placed it around a pillar candle securing it with a band of grease proof paper with the excess paper creating a hand hold for me. I then used a heat gun to gently heat the candle , causing it to, "Swallow", the tissue paper. I then added Ranger enamels and some Stickles glue.
To create the holder I designed a candle holder which I cut out of card on my Cameo. I then used texture paste and glitter to "ice", the candle holder and added some gorgeous toadstools which I bought in a new shop in Chelmsford called, "Flying Tiger" (from Copenhagen).

Best wishes for a wonderful Christmas,
Denyse x
